Visoko recently became very popular due to its evidence of the first traces of life dating back to the 5th millennium BC. As a matter of fact, archaeological excavations of Okolište are one of the biggest neolithic settlements of the Butmir culture in southeastern Europe. Therefore, it is no strange that the small community of this area has been known wide across the country as the guardians of traditional arts and crafts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This Full Day Experience will take you to a Neolithic area of Visoko and a charming small village where only 6 families live nowadays. You will meet one of the best pottery artist in the country and wider, enter his home, meet his beautiful family, share food, learn about their life and work and, finally, with a little help from the expert, make your very own pottery souvenir to bring home. Meeting a local community while putting yourself out there as an artist and discovering a deep connection between your mind, your body and the clay.

3 weeks agoWe booked with Funky Tours for their Sarajevo to Herzegovina tour, which included Konjic, Jablanica, Pocitelj, Blagaj Tekke, Kravice Waterfalls and Mostar. We are a family of four with two boys aged 7 and 10, and were joined by three others. The tour was remarkably well-planned, with no single stretch of driving exceeding an hour and a half. The van was new, spacious and comfortable. Our guide and driver Evan was extremely polite, considerate and deeply knowledgeable about the country in general and every place we went to in particular. He adjusted the tour midway to accommodate our group's consensus to try the traditional Bosnian Lamb, and later gave us all the time we wanted at places where we wanted to stay longer, such as Blagaj (which is a breathtakingly beautiful place), cheerfully adding a couple of hours to the overall tour without a hint of a complaint. The tour started on time, and ended with us being dropped off on our doorstep. Overall a fantastic experience where the only thing we did was relax and enjoy the best of Herzegovina, while everything else was taken care of. Highly, highly recommended!

8 months agoWe took an afternoon siege tour of Sarajevo with Mustafa which gave an insightful overview of life during the conflict. We also took a day transfer tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik. It was a long day but an amazing way to transfer between the 2 destinations on our trip. Even better was that it turned out to be just mum and I so we could set our own schedule. The sights along the way were stunning. Alja was an excellent driver, guide and good company throughout the day. Would 100% recommend funky tours. Excellent communication and a fantastic tour company! Thank you

2 months agoOur group of 16 attended the half day Sarajevo war tour and were fortunate to have Adnan as our guide; a veteran of the war who was able to provide exceptional insight into the events. A comfortable minibus was included to transport us to various locations which included the Tunnel of Hope, Winter Olympics site and Jewish Cemetery in addition to many other locations in and out of the city. Don't miss this opportunity to learn and we recommend that you ask for Adnan.

2 months agoThe booking process with Edna was a breeze, and it was a privilege to do the 4 cities tour with Almir as my guide. The places we went were spectacular; you're likely to get that with every tour company, but what made this tour special was Almir's lived experience and vast knowledge about Bosnia and Herzegovina. I also learnt more about Islam from him than from my travels in Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Morocco. He didn't regurgitate information from Wikipedia, but instead shared local stories, including his own experience of war. He shared a message his mother gave him, and it's something that will stay with me and that I, as a teacher, will share with my students: "The book of your life isn't finished yet. You can choose how it goes from here." I choose adventure. I choose more tours like this that allow me to meet locals and share our stories. As it says in Sarajevo old town, the meeting of cultures. Oh, and he has good taste in music. Thank you Almir & Funky Tours!

2 months agothe Sarajevo war tour is a must for travellers and history enthusiasts wanting to explore the city in a way museums cannot. Almir’s first hand account as a veteran really emphasises the hardship and brutality of such atrocities. The best tour I’ve done and a truly unforgettable experience. Not only will you learn about the Seige of Sarajevo but a great deal about former Yugoslavia from the first and Second World War and onwards. pickup and ticket fees included and the most fantastic guide. thank you Amir 🇧🇦
